Child Find Notice
Richard Allen Schools are required to locate all children who may have disabilities, ages birth through 21, within the schools. Special education services are available in our schools for children identified with a disability. If you have a child or know of a child you suspect may have a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and who attends one of our schools, please contact your building principal at 937-951-2800.
Ohio Enforcement of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Richard Allen School District receives Federal Special Education IDEA Part B funds to assist with the education of handicapped students in grades K through 8. The school holds a brief informative meeting annually for any local community member to attend and discuss how the IDEA funds are used. The date and time is posted annually prior to the meeting.

No Child Left Behind
The Richard Allen Schools are public community schools that participate in statewide assessment (including Ohio's State Tests). The Schools uphold compulsory attendance requirements for all students, as required by law.
At the beginning of each school year, any parent who has a child attending any school receiving Title I funds may request and receive, in a timely manner, information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers. In addition, the parents may also ask whether the child is provided services by a paraprofessional and, if so, his or her qualifications.
Parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their students' teachers by writing or emailing the principal. For a complete faculty roster, contact your school’s office or check the directory on the campus website.

Richard Allen Schools understand a school emergency can occur at any time. As parents, know that Richard Allen Schools are proactively prepared to respond to school safety emergencies.
Richard Allen Schools’ preparation is guided by a School Safety Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that provides detailed response directives to facilitate and achieve safety for students and staff.

Title IX
Title IX of the Higher Education Act promises equal access to education for all students and it protects them against discrimination on the basis of sex.
Title IX was enacted to ensure: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
What is Title IX?
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. Sec. 1681 et seq.) is a federal law that states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in education, including K-12 schools. Title IX has been used to promote equity in education by ensuring equal resources and treatment in education and school-related athletic and extracurricular activities, providing protections and for pregnant and parenting students, and prohibiting sex based harassment, discrimination, and bullying. In addition to this federal law, California Education law also prohibits schools from discriminating against students on the basis of sex (Education Code sections 220-221.1).
